Augusten's mother had a mental breakdown and they are staying in a hotel away from the homes. Augusten's mom met a waitress at a diner. The woman was brain washed by his mother that her therapist raped her. Augusten also was talking about just getting his diploma and graduating high school. He went to college but realized it was to much and dropped out. He moved into his own place with one of the Finch's daughter. After Augusten's mother tried to convince him Finch raped her, he just ran away to a hotel. At the very end you find out where all the book characters are today.
